Affiliate Programs are also known as Affiliate Marketing or Multi Level Marketing amongst others. It is a proven way to attract targeted traffic to your website and once setup it is very low maintenance and you will only pay commission when your product or service is actually paid for, the traffic itself is free. Not just the large companies are doing it, even small companies are now getting involved. It is similar in Link Exchanging in that another website has a link to your own website but wit the added benefit for them that if their visitor to your site ends up purchasing anything than they will receive commission on the sale as agreed by yourself. We can set you up on a choice of these Merchant Service companies, create your banner and text ads and help you with future updating is necessary.

The procedures and how it all works

A merchant account is created for you at your chosen venue
Banners, advertising text and financial information is entered into the system
The commission is set for the amount that you want to pay affiliates for each sale they bring you. For example, 10% of the sale, or a straight £2.00
A small piece of code is placed on the receipt page of your website, which will serve as the trigger to the Affiliate Company that a sale has been made

Affiliates sign up from a link on your web site or at the Affiliate Company and place your banner or text Ads on their website. This will hopefully lead to traffic to your site. We are able to create your own affiliate program on your web site if required but the beauty of using a third party Affiliate Company is that they will already have a large database of existing Publisher relationships. There are other website owners and webmasters who are always looking for Ads to place on their site. This can provide an initial boost in the number of affiliates you attract.

Typically, you will need to place a small deposit on account to ensure commissions are paid after a sale. You simply need to ensure that this is always kept afloat. The only other attention you may need to give it is to occasionally upload new banners and creatives should you have a special promotion or sale on.
