Per Click (CPC) Advertising is now embedded
in every proactive company's web
strategy. An account is created
at companies like Google and Yahoo
and you create Ads based on your chosen keywords.
These Ads are shown whenever somebody searches
on those keywords and are also shown on sites
who have opted to show your Ads. You only
incur a charge when a visitor clicks on the
Ad and is directed to your site.
It is an invaluable and cost effective way to get the right
targeted traffic to your web site. We can
set you up an account at the main venues and provide you with
training and help to get you on your way or we can manage
your whole campaign; you just set the budget!
The Benefits
As you only pay each time a visitor clicks
on your Ad you know that you are paying for quality leads
for your business. A visitor is not going to click on your
Ad if it does not represent the specific product or service
they require. On this basis we ensure the Ads are optimized
with the correct wording to attract the right visitors. Most
of this will be common sense, of course.
Once an account is opened and Ads have been created it is then time to set a budget. It is often possinle to set a daily, weekly and monthly budget so at all times you know you will not suffer a sudden cashflow crises.
Keywords relevant to your product and service have to be entered into the system for your Ads to be shown on a Search Engine enquiry. This is where it gets complicated!
Too general a keyword and the cost when somebody clicks it
could be so high that your daily budget is wiped out on only
a couple of Ad clicks. Specific groups of keywords, a phrase,
will ensure exceptionally well targeted traffic as the Ads
will only appear when the phrase is searched upon. You also
have to bear in mind how often your main competitors show
up on similar terms and even if your chosen cost per click is high enough to ensure you actually get shown above or along with your competitors.
Example:
You are a plumber in Guildford, Surrey and wish to advertise
your services effectively. The results
for the keyword 'plumbers' are around 13 million and the Google
Ads at the top and right hand side are likely to be expensive
per click with too much competition. Besides, as you are in
Guildford it seems silly to possible attract somebody looking
for a plumber in Aberdeen. Therefore the best keyword phrases
will be 'guildford plumber', 'plumbers in guildford', etc.
You can how the search results for 'plumbers in guildford'
produces far less results
and the CPC Ads are specifically mainly plumbers in guildford
or the immediate surrounding area. When a visitor clicks on
these it will likely be less expensive and, more importantly,
targeted to your exact business, i.e. it will be a local customer. You
will also notice in the above example that despite using a
very specific phrase when searching it is always likely that
the sponsored (paid for) results will include Agents and companies
providing a directory of a similar service or product. These
will be full of your competitors so it is vital that you ensure
you Ad gets seen amongst these as often as possible.

- We create the account, set up the whole campaigns with the

Notes: It takes about 14 days for both
companies to authorise, activate and approve the accounts
and Ads. Overture can be made quicker with a Fast-Track service
which, naturally, costs an extra £79.00 + VAT and takes 3-5
days . Google has no minimum spend requirement and you can
cease their service at any time, instantly, at no additional
cost. Overture requires a £20.00 minimum monthly spend
and the account can be terminated at any time. Both companies
allow you to freeze your account at any time and reactivate
it at a later date.
